Notes: Original Autographs by American explorer Richard E. Byrd (“R. E. Byrd”) (1888-1957) and his wife, Marie Byrd, in pen on separate 2” x 3” cards with envelope postmarked “Dublin, N. H” on August 16, 1930. Admiral Bird was the first man to fly over both Poles. This was the summer after his first expedition to Antarctica when he and Marie occupied the Charles Aldrich mansion in Dublin where he wrote Little America. Autograph card in fine condition; envelope in good condition. Includes Letter of Authenticity from Global Authentics. It is one of a large collection of autographs with matching envelopes from this era acquired from the estate of the original owner. Additional photos available upon request.
