Notes: Signed postcarde by Sir James Edward Alexander (1803-1885) sent on July 7, 1831 Alexander served in numerous fronts inluding Turkey, Kaffir, Canada and Crimea. He was knighted in 1838 and made a General in 1881. He was responsible for the preservation of Cleopatra's Needle. Dimensions: 5" x 2.75". Envelope face only.
