Notes: Original handwritten four page signed letter by John Watson Croker (1780-1857) to Dr. Bright regarding Samuel Johnson and religious conversion. Croker was a British Tory leader and essayist. Served as Secretary to the Admilralty (1810-1830) and was noted literary critic. Letter relates to naval research between 1814 and 1826.
