Notes: Signed handwritten two page letter from John Campbell, 9th Duke of Argyll (1845-1914) to Lady Derby, dated May 7, 1874 declining an invitation. John Campbell was a British Noble who served as Governor General of Canada from 1878 to 1883 and husband to Princess Louise, the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria. He also was a founder and first president of the Rangers Football Club. Letter dimensions: 4.5” x 7” with seal in VG to fine condition. Additional photos available upon request.
