Stanley was an English Theologian who served as Canon of Canterbury (1851) and Dean of Westminster (1864-1881), when letter written. He wrote extensively on ecclesistical history and biographies. Letter relates to placing an inscription on a gravestone. Last page shows handwritten map locating the grave site. Dimensions unopened: 7.25" x 4.5" in VG condition.
