Notes: Signed handwritten one page letter by Anthony Ashley Cooper, 7th Earl of Shaftesbury (1801-1885), dated May 31, 1878 to Mr. MacGregor regarding "History of 25 Years". Document: 7.25" x 4.25" in VG condition except for some spotting in corner. Shaftesbury was a noted British Statemen and philanthropist and social reformer. He served as Chairman of the Sanitary Commission in the Crimean War and was a strong supported of Florence Nightengale in the Crimean theater. Additional photos available upon request.
