Notes: Original signed typed letter by Theodore E. Burton (1851-1929), Senator, Ohio, dated December 29, 1928. Burton was a U.S. Representative or U.S. Senator from 1889 to 1929. The letter was addressed to Mrs. Alexander (Rebekah) Kohut (1864-1951) in response to her request to support the appointment of Herman Bernstein (1876-1935) for a Diplomatic Poast. Alexander Kohut was the famed Jewish Rabbi and Rebekah ws the founder of the National Council of Jeweish Women. Herman Bernstein (1876-1935) was a Jewish-American Jouornalist, playwright and Author. Burton agreed to take up the matter with President Hoover. Subsequently, Bernstein was appointed at U.S. Minister to Albania where he served from 1930-1933). Dimensions 10.5" x 8" in VG condition.
