Notes: Typed letter from Senator Joseph McCarthy of Wisconsin (1908-1957), dated January 5, 1956 regarding an invitation to attending a testimonial for local Republican politicians. McCarthy was senator of Wisconsin from 1947 to 1957. McCarthy was the most visible politician fighting domestic communist subversion during the Cold War. Signature is done by his secretary as shown by the fact that it is initialed. Letter written on letterhead of the Committee on Government Operations. In VG condition with two punch holes.
