Notes: Original Atlas with black cloth covered boards (15" H x 13" W) featuring 30 maps from the Treasury Department U. S. Coast and Geodetic Survey Special Publication No. 3, entitled, "Atlas of the Philippine Islands". There is water and mold damage on the bottom of the front and rear covers. Some darkening on edge of maps but maps themselves clean and unmarked; no tears or folds. Includes 24 pages of text. Old bookplate on front inside cover and scattered pencil underlining in text. Historically significant document regarding ownership of disputed islands in South China Sea. Additional photos available upon request.
