Notes: Offering features 44 issues of Social Justice weekly magazine founded by Father Caughlin running from January 3, 1940 through December 30, 1940. Each issue (16.5" H x 11" W) and consisting of approximately 16 pages each, is complete and in fair to VG condition, except for one issue in poor condition, with fraying along edges and age appropriate toning prevalent. These issues present a remarkably clear and consistent perspective in the year America entere into WW II. Social Justice provided an anti-Marxist, anti- Semetic perspective on political events unfolding in Europe and elsewhere but their journalism was professional and provides an important perspective for WW II scholars to ponder. The publication, started by Father Caughlin in 1936, effectively ended in 1942 when the periodical’s second class mailing permit was revoked under the Espionage Act of 1917. Issues of Social Justice for 1930-1942 are listed and available for purchase. Additional photos available upon request. All items carefully packed to avoid damage from moisture and rough handling.
