Notes: This is the first of a series of original Lithographs made by Max Liebermann for Paul Cassirer’s periodical, De Kriegszeit (The War Time) between August 2014 and April 2016. This Periodical was largely supportive of the War Effort and drew contributions by famous German Jewish artists such as Liebermann. Funds from sales were distributed to struggling artists. This lithograph was published on the front page of the first edition of the periodical and is plate signed by Liebermann. The composition dimensions are 10 1/4 x 9 5/8" (26 x 24.5 cm) The lithograph has been carefully tipped in and preserved with white cardboard backing. No tears or creases. Banner folded back. Printing on verso. A total of 15 similar lithographs from De Kriegszeit, including 14 by Liebermann, are listed and available for sale individually or in a lot.
