Gertrude Lawrence ( 1898 - 1952) was an English actress, singer, dancer and musical comedy performer known for her stage appearances in the West End of London and on Broadway in New York. Western Union Cablegram, 1941 March 18, to James Laver, "Bless you Dear See you in June thumbs Up= Gertrude Lawrence". Also has passed by censor stamp. Also includes separate note to Mr. Laver from a secretary saying see enlosed telegram. Dimensions: 8x6" piece with purple telegraphed words taped to paper in Very Good condition. The secretary letter is 7x8" with a 19th March, 1941 date. The reverse both is blank . Pieces are papercliped together with paperclip mark on telegram. Additional photos available upon request.
